PICK YOUR PUZZLE
A helper for every kind of clue.
- 01
Put your letters on the table
Type a word or a jumble. Spaces, apostrophes and hyphens don’t count; repeated letters do.
- 02
Choose how much to use
Exact mode uses every letter once. All possible words can leave letters over, but can’t invent extra ones.
- 03
Make the list yours
Filter by length, copy the matches or bring a list of your own. Candidate phrases work too.

Before you shuffle.
What does “anagram solver” mean?
It finds words made from rearranging letters. In exact mode, the answer must use every letter the same number of times: LISTEN → SILENT. In all possible words mode, shorter matches such as LINE can appear too.
Is there a trick to solving anagrams?
Count repeated letters first, then look for familiar endings such as -ING or -ED. Try moving the vowels apart. To check a guess, compare the counts of each letter, not just the word length. Our worked examples show the difference.
Can I search my own list of candidate phrases?
Yes. Open “Use your own word list,” enable it, then paste or import one candidate per line. For THE EYES, a list containing “they see” produces a match. The tool checks supplied phrases; it does not invent new phrases. A community question about this task helped shape this feature.
Are the results valid in my word game?
Check the dictionary your game uses. Our default ENABLE list is a general word-game reference, not an official current Scrabble or Words With Friends ruling. You can bring an allowed-word list you have permission to use.
Do I need to upload anything or make an account?
No account is needed. The solver downloads its default word list and processes your input locally. A custom text file stays in your tab. Basic site usage analytics are enabled by default; they don’t include your letters, results or lists. You can turn them off in Privacy.
